Weird eye symptoms

I've tried researching this phenomena but cannot find anything related to what I've been experiencing. I've had dry eyes for years now. My eye Dr has done a few dry eye tests over the years. I've been using lubricating eye drops for it. Over this last year, my eyes began burning and running here and there and my eye drops are no longer working like they had been. These last couple months have become unbearable. My eyes itch, run and burn and its really quite uncomfortable and painful. I've just begun using liquified coconut oil and dropping a few drops in each eye a couple times during the day to try and find relief. The burning feeling like I just got done cutting up onions is becoming more and more regular, and lasting longer and longer. I've not been sick at all this year, so it's not pink eye. I'm just posting this to see if anyone else experiences anything like this. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

I have severe dry eyes as does my wife.  Dry eyes get worse as we get older, especially in women menopausal or post-menopausal. I would strongly suggest your read about Restasis which my wife and I have been on for over 10 years with excellent results, there is a newer, stronger one called Cequa but it is much more expensive. I would also suggest you find within a driveable distance a eye MD ophthalmologist that specializes in corneal diseases. There are two types of dry eyes, actually doctors call the problem Ocular surface disorder, mine is aqueous deficiency (no tears, dry mouth) and my wife, evaporative type (eyes water constantly).
