Why is entopic phenomena visible if you look at the sky on a bright day but not in the dark?

I have a theory for my flashes that I have been experiencing for well over a year now. Why is entopic phenomena visible if you look at the sky on a bright day but not in the dark? My theory is that I am seeing these same specks of white light in normal ambient lighting. Is there any justification for this theory?

Dr Hagan,

under what circumstances can small retinal tears be left alone?

What sort of time frame are we looking at for the progression of a tear into a retinal detachment?

No the flash will projected to the opposite side ie a tear on lower inner retina will be projected to the upper outer field of vision.

if you have a tear and hence get a flash in the periphery of your right eye does this mean that the tear is also in the same location as the flash, ie on the right retina and on the periphery?

But what about in normal ambient lighting, if these spots are moving about 24/7 then is it possible that one of them might be perceived every so often during daylight or normal ambient light and this is what I am perceiving as a flash or speck of light?

The spots are blood cells moving in the capillaries. The night vision system is not able to perceive these due to lack of contrast.
