Seeing blue light in vision

Sometimes when bright sunlight shines on my eye, I can see a faint blue light in my vision. It is not in the center of my vision but more to the side. Also, the blue light goes away whenever I squint but returns when I open my eyes wide. Also, sometimes I can see veins in my vision along with the blue light. I am myopic R(-5.00) L(-4.50). I also have astigmatism. Any idea if these are bad symptoms?

They don't necessarily have to be bad symptoms. They could be entopic phenomena, could be uncorrective refractive error. You need to see an ophthalmologist for a baseline eye exam. If in the USA find one at www.aao.org     elsewhere have your family MD refer you.
