Rezoom Lens Problem

I had my second cataract surgery 12 weeks ago with the Rezoom lens implant.  In low light situations, I can see the tiniest print.  However, at work where I really want to see it all, I can not.  I have even had them to turn off the light above my desk, but most of the time I struggle to see numbers on my reports so have to wear reading glasses.  I am so disappointed because I wore contacts before and don't want to wear reading glasses espeically after paying all this money.  It makes me so mad that I know I can see them if the light were just dim enough.  Is this as good as it's going to get?  Is there anything that can be done at this point?  Why don't the Rezoom work in light as well as the dark????  My doctor acted as if no one else had ever told him they see better in dim light.  He said I have 20/20 vision, the lens is perfectly centered, no astigmatism and the surgery was perfect.  Why should I complain!!!

I am 5 weeks into cataract surgery on the left eye and 4 weeks into the right eye.  I had Rezoom lens put in both eyes.  I can't complain about my vision; however, my eyes sting and are very dry.  I feel like I have uncomfortable contacts in both eyes.  I'm wondering if I could be allergic to the lens themselves.  I am allergic to preservatives in eye drops and wonder if the steroid drops I'm still using have preservatives in them.  I quit using the sterile water in my eyes which I was told to use if my eyes felt dry. The sterile water solution does contain preservatives.  I got some Oasis Eye Drops from the eye doc's office yesterday and started using them right away with no measurable improvement with the stinging, dry, tired eye problem.
I'm really hoping that these lens will settle in and these problems will go away.  Has anyone out there had this problem for 4 and 5 weeks post surgery?

Use the archives and review past postings. There are a huge number of postings on problems with the REZoom IOL.  Very few people have gone ahead with a second ReZoom and be happy. I was at a meeting of surgeons within the past month and NONE would have a ReZoom put in both eyes.

Consider opting for a monofocal, aspheric IOL like the state of the art Tecnis

I recently had the cataract in my right eye replaced with the new rezoom lens.  I cannot see far or near, as things are blurry.  The Doctor wants me to have the other eye done, and I thought then I would not see anything.  Everything would be blurry.  So now I am thinking I would have my other eye done with the regular lens.  I was also thinking of having this lens taken out (don't know if they will do that) and put the regular lens in.  I am so disappointed.  However, I do have astigmatism in both eyes.  I am seeing the Dr. tomorrow.  I has been about 6 weeks since the procedure.  I don't know what they will say.

1. There are a very large number of complaints posted on both eye forums about problems with the Rezoom lens. Review previous posts, archieves and use the search engine.
2. You complaints may improve up to one year.
3. 80% of multifocal patients wear glasses as often as 20% of the time; you better get yourself a pair of glasses to read in ALL light situations.

Has your vision improved not that it has been longer since surgery?
