My eye MD says if I have a distance vision in one eye and a near vision lens in the other eye I will lose depth perception which is vital to me (a dentist).  However, I already have near vision in my one eye and distance vision in the other and have depth perception.  Will I notice a difference.  He also recommends Crystal lens which I understand is riskier.  Please comment

When I wore monovision contacts in the past, any impairment in my depth perception was not noticeable.  At the present time, my vision in one eye is slightly distorted due to a damaged retina.  Although I'm not aware of the distortion using both eyes, I'm definitely aware of an impairment in my depth perception.  For example, when walking down stairs I always reach for the handrail (but didn't used to.)  My point is that impaired depth perception is hard to overlook.

I would not chose a multifocal IOL if I were having surgery nor would I recommend it to a dentist, pilot, surgeon, truck driver, etc.

I can't answer your question about depth perception without knowing your present glasses RX
