What are the symptoms of a retinal scar? Do all scars cause tractional retinal detachment of the macula?
If flourescine angiogram is performed and there is leakage, can this be stopped to prevent detetioration of the retina as you mentioned above?
Thanks in advance for your answers.
It depends on what it is doing. An epiretinal membrane can be stable. if on Floureseine angiogram there is leakage then the retina will deteriorate over time.
The vision will slowly deteriorate if scar tissue is causing a tractional retinal detachment of the macular.

Thanks Doctor,
What could happen if the tissues remain there?
Are they harmful inte long run?
1) yes, however, if a epiretinal membrane, Avastin or steroids can help. 2) Yes. 3) Depends on how successful the surgery is in removing the scar tissue.
