going blind

help mme i dont want to go blind! ive been going blind in my right eye for a while now all i can see is blurred vision and the colors are all faded the eyedoctors says this time next year ill be blind ive lost my medicade and insurance and dont know what to do is there anything that can be done before i go completely blind?

my daughter is also losing her sight in her left eye from early cateracts she is 26 with a 10 year old and 1 year old . She can't get medicaid they said she makes to much because of food stamps , she doesn't work  but is looking everywhere for a job that she can do while losing her sight do you or anyone else know who could help her . We live in N.C.

Go to www.aao.org to locate a doctor near you. Also, try contacting the local Services for the Blind office as they can help financially. Good luck.

Most cities have teaching programs or hospital that will treat patient without funds.

I am sorry to hear about your situation.  Get a second opinion, treatment may be out there.  Theres always hope.  If indeed you are going blind, you should get ahold of all state agencies to start gathering information about rehabilitation services that may be available to you.  Also, check into social security disability.  Take care, and God BLess.
