yes!! my eyeglass precription numbers are for the nearsightedness....but he also told me that i have astigmatism.....
the very symptoms for nearsightedness was.....dizzy feeling.....then after i used the glasses it was ok....now also it's fine...
may be tht doctor was a freak who prescried the number of nearsightedness and also told me that i have astigmatism...
I am somewhat confused as your eyeglass prescription numbers are for nearsightedness yet you say you have astigmatism.
Laptop distance should be OK without glasses. Some people get eye fatigue at a computer screen because their focusing muscle zooms in and out to try to focus perfectly yet many screens are not in perfect resolution and perfect focus cannot be achieved. Also, there is a tendency not to blink and properly lubricate the eye at the computer screen.
You should make sure you blink enough over long periods of time and look away from the screen now and then to allow your focusing muscle to relax.
thank you maa'm for your kind advice...actually i am almost 21...i was diagnosed as Astigmatism almost 4-5 months b4......
but when i was using glasses i felt a bit uncomfortable..and especially while reading in laptop...

i was using glasses around 3-4 months before but now i am not using it...
and i am having a bit hardtime going through laptop...

i have developed this problem by sitting hours and hours infront of computer without sufficient light........
plz advice me........
If you are approaching age 40, your near focusing muscle is losing it's range of focus and one needs reading glasses or bifocals depending on the distance prescription and preference. Astigmatism can occur at any age and is the condition where the cornea surface is shaped more like a football than a basketball, causing a blur of varying degree at near or far. You need a good refraction and good pair of glasses to see the best.
One should be checked for glaucoma regularly as well because there are no symptoms
at first but side vision is lost and it is not retrievable.
