hello doctor.
i was in hospital for a couple of weeks, a few weeks back now. while there a eye specialist found a in-active lesion behind my right eye. he dilated the eyes and hed me look right up to the left when he found it. he spent alot of time looking and re looking at it before telling me he wants to see me in 3 weeks to look again unless i loose the sight in the mean time.
i should mention i was an in patient as i had been ill for 3 months with severe vertigo, numbness in left side, tremors, odd sensations of pins and needles, numb patches on areas of my body, muscle spasms and sickness amoungst other things. i ended up having seizures and a loss of use of the left side for about 3 weeks. its still not right now, and i still am dizzy.
this has happened before, the first time being 8 years ago, when nothing was found to be wrong. the vertigo first started january 2010. after finding the lesion, i had a MRI the next day and the lesion was not visible on it. (surely that cant be right, can it?).
im wondering whether the lesion is causing my many symptoms as the hospital have said all they can call my problem is a neurological dysfunction, but i kinda already worked that out myself to be honest. they said all they can do is treat the symptoms with gabapentin and cyclizine.
if u can give me as much info as u can, as the not understanding is often more frightening than having some idea. i asked the questions at the hospital already, to no avail.
thank u so much
vicky
