how "bad" should one expect intermediate vision to be with only monofocal lens?

With my monofocal lenses at plano and no residual astigmatism or other problems affecting my acuity, I need glasses to use a computer, cook, and do other intermediate tasks comfortably.  If you're concerned about your intermediate vision, consider having your second IOL targeted for good intermediate vision.
