Dear Sir, my mother is not able to see from last 20 years, She can understand the sunlight, tube light lamp with the help of someone. We have consulted with some doctors around 5-10 years back in Jaipur and AIIMS Delhi also. But not received any satisfactory answer. Doctors were saying like the veins (optic nerve) of my mothers eyes are completely dry. So she is not able to see. if there are some chance to recover my mothers eye side. Sir otherwise doctors are suggesting us for an operation of Cataracts and saying 2-4 percent eye side can be increased by this. Suggest me sir some option, I want my mother can see the world from her eyes. Please suggest us on the same.
It sounds like your mother has optic atrophy and that is not curable with today's set of knowledge. So it's important to treat what can be helped, in this case the cataract. So it makes sense to have cataract surgery and reasonable to see some better but not good after surgery.
