Yellowish bump on white of the eye

I have noticed for awhile that I have what appears to be a light yellowish bump of some sort on the white of my eye, but relatively close to my pupil.  I never thought much of it but I'm also now experiencing blur of vision when I've always had wonderful vision.  The yellow has been there for probably 5 to 7 years now and I myself am only 28yrs. old.  What could the possible diagnosis of this be?  Is this the cause of my eyesight being blurred, or is it that I just need to get them checked?  Should I be at some alarm?  This yellowish bump is in both of my eyes.

i have this yellowish spot on my left eye..3oclock.. and also my eyes gets easily irritated and and the veines are growing and getting bigger by lights or when im done watching movie or at midnight time.. i sleep like 8 to 10 hours a day but sometimes im lack of it.. i play internet games like 3 to 4 hours..do you think it has something to do with my hobby? when i see a bright light my eyes get red and the veines are getting bigger.. i had consulted a optalmologist but they recommend me a lubricant for my eyes its genteal. i want to remove the yellowish spot and also the veines in my eyes.. is it true that the veines in our eyes cant be removed? i wish i can show you the photo of my eyes..

It will not interfere with lasik and by stopping the CTL wear the pingueculum generally gets much smaller and less conspicuous.

Thank you for your reply. I do wear contact lens. I was thinking of getting eye laser treatment done do you know if this is a good idea if you have pingueculum, would it make them more noticeable?

There are no drops that will make it go away and rarely is surgery indicated or even covered by insurance. To keep the pingueculum small avoid sun exposure or/and proctect the eye (hat/sunglasses) and do not use tanning booths. Contact lens can cause them and make them bigger. If a person wearing contacts gets a pingueculum and it gets bigger or irritated it may warrant stopping contacts.

I have a pingueculum on both eyes. It doesnt cause me any bother except for the fact you can see a yellow spot in my eyes. Will this go away if not is there any drops I can use to get rid of the yellow on the white of my eye

They will not blur vision. THey will go away although they look smaller if they are not irritated or swollen.  IF your vision is blurred see and Eye MD physician ophthalmologist for an evaluation of why.

I have googled the pingueculum that YES!  That is EXACTLY what it looks like...  Thank-you SO much for this information.  I do not nor have I ever wore contacts or glasses so it must be from the exposure of sunlight.  Two questions remaining is, could this have something to do with my blurred vision?    Is there a way I can rid myself of them like maybe some sort of eye drop or medication?

You are likely seeing a pingueculum. This is damage to the elastic fibers of the conjunctiva from ultraviolet light (sun damage). It occurs at the 3 and 9 o'clock position where the white is exposed to the sun and not at 12 and 6 o"clock where the upper and lower lids protect the white. It can also be due to irritation from contact lens wear.

Rarely are they removed. Protect your eyes from the sun with hat with bill and sunglasses that absorb UV light.

On some occassions a pingueculum can become inflammed and require weak steroid drops to calm down. With heavy sun exposure a pingueculum can turn into a pyterigium and start to grow over the cornea.
