Sometimes floaters can look like strings and lines. I have some of these in each eye and they show up more when looking near lights and bright areas. Some of mine spin around and others move in only certain directions.
But it's a good idea to get anything new checked out by the eye doctor. Good luck.
Check the search feature and look for posterior vitreous detachment.
One must watch for a possible retinal detachment when this process is occurring. See your eye MD ophthalmologist right away if you get "new" character to your flashes or floaters. Once the vitreous has detached, the risk of a retinal break is essentially gone because the tractional pull is gone. This has occurred in 70% of people by age 70.
High blood pressure is not related.
I also failed to mention I have high blood pressure....didn't know if that could have any effect on my symptoms....
