Retinal detachment

I have a doughter, who is 18 years old.She was operated on her left eye for the reason of retinal detachment  7 months ago. Before the surgery the vision was approx.20%.During the surgery the doctors put a silicon oil into the eye. They took it 70 days later,ad the vision increased up to 50%.After that a thin layer called membran and cataract occured in the eye. They did a new surgery in August and they cleared the membran and replaced a new lens for cataract.During this surgery they put a gas bubble into the eye.
Present time, gas bubble disappered but a new membran occured because of her age and vision is approx.10%.They recommend a new surgery to clear the membran. But I am suspicious whether it will sort the problem out or not,it may repeat again and again and she may be blind.

Could you please recommend a new thing? I do not know, what I must to do,or  there is a new tecnique in the USA?
Waiting for your good news and many thanks in advance
Ahmet from Turkey

Her problems are common and predictable. I do not think treatment in the USA would alter her course or chance of success. Why don't you get a second opinion locally and see if they agree. The membrane may need to be cleared more than once in a young person.

Above all else protect the "good " eye from disease and injury.   Wear appropriate eye protection at all times.
