Why continuous pain in Rt eye 8 yrs after retinal detachment repair?

I have a scleral buckle & I've seen a retinal specialist and an Optometrist and then a neurologist. No one could find a reason for the sharp, severe pain in my eye that almost always starts at 2 am &  seems to last almost 12 hrs each time. The Neurologist said it is probably a migraine and put me on Imitrex which has not helped. I have dry eyes but the drops don't seem to help. It's so bad I cannot open my eye until the pain is gone which leaves me unable to work or drive.  Recently, within the last 6 months, I  have an annoying aching in that same eye  that seems to last a few days as well. My bp is ok, pressures ok, etc. Would an MRI or CT Scan prove beneficial? Any ideas on what's causing this pain? Thank you for any help.

Since it starts at night (2 AM) you could have recurrent corneal erosions. I suggest you try putting a lubricating ointment in the eye that is painful every night for 2 weeks to see if it helps.  Try Refresh PM,  or Duratears. If it helps then continue the bedtime lubricant indefinitely.
