scleral cyst

Does conjunctival cyst recur at anytime even if it was recently incised and drained? According to the opthalmologist it was a water blister? What caused it? How to prevent it from recurring?

They are harmless. There is nothing you can do to prevent. I&D of the cyst frequently causes subconjunctival hemorrhage. I can't tell you whether you need it done again only that they often reoccur especially if connect sausage like or fish-egg like

Thanks for the medical info however the procedure was done before I got your answer.  I suffered subconjunctival hemorrhage after my cyst was incised and drained partially.  My opthalmologist is planning to drained it once again until the subconjunctival hemorrhage clears.  Do I need it to be done once again? I prefer not to after I read your advice.  However the cyst looks ugly on my sclera with the redness around.  I told him before that he did incise and drain from the same eye when a foreign object hurt my eye.  Now, I can remember that it recurred this time.  From what you're saying I am doomed to have a recurrence and there is nothing I can do?  Are there any preventative measures  at all? Will it affect my vision when I age?

1. conjunctival cysts usually do not require RX
2. Yes if incised and drained they DO often reoccur.
3. You can do nothing to prevent reoccurence.
4. They are just blocked glands in a a gland rich layer of the eye.
