cataract surgery with LRI/mild temporal ABMD

I am in the process of arranging for cataract extraction and LRI sugery at the same time.  I am extremely near-sighted and recent eye exam noted faint temporal ABMD.
I still work professionally and would miss the ability to have close vision, even though I currently wear glasses for everything.  I am leaning toward the mono-lens implant with near vision correction. Both eyes need the surgery, and I am looking for a 2 week time between the two surgeries, since I do not wish to miss work for a long period of time.

Does the "faint temporal ABMD" have any bearing on the cateract surgery? Does my current extreme myopia increease significantly my risk of rentinal detachment?

Since I willl need glasses for distance, how long will it be before I can be fitted with a new prescription?

Well if you opt to have your eyes left myopic (but much less than you are now) so you can read without glasses then you will need glasses for distance. Your depth perception without glasses should be better than it is now without glasses.

The risk of a RD may be as high as 5-6% even with successful, non-complicated surgery.

Thank you for quick response.  Regarding risk of RD I am late fifties female- and have worn glasses since  grade school.  Also, with near vision correction, is there any difference with depth perseption verses distance correction?

Yes your extreme myopia will increase the risk of RD significantly after cataract/IOL surgery especially if you are a young male.

ABMD   =  anterior basement membrane disorder will likely not be a problem.

Glasses can be fit as soon as 5-7 days with the new small incision surgery.
