Lipodermoid

my two month old has a lipodermoid. in the hospital we were told it would go away, but we recently went to see a pediatric board certified specialist that told us that it's a lipodermoid that is benign. Plus that she doesn't recommdend having it removed. I was wondering if anyone can share their experience with their children or themselves. We want to know if this is something that may go away over time. It's in the corner of her left, occasionaly you don't see it, but for the most part it's visible..

I think you have been given good advice. The part you can see is like the tip of an iceberg. The non-visible part often is wrapped around eye muscles and the muscle that holds the lid open. I no longer do pediatrics but when i did I tried to avoid surgery and saw several patients kids and adults that had surgery and were left with double vision, droopy eye lids, large scars on the eye and reoccurence of the tumor.
