2ww - Early July 2010 - Anyone else?

Hi all,

I am in the dreaded 2ww, until July 11, 2010, when I go in for my blood test. I'm looking for buddies to keep me company and prevent me from doing HPTs...until a reasonable time at least!!

Anyone on the same schedule?

Good luck, and lots of baby dust to you all!

SL

A little about me, and where I am on this ttc journey:

--Age 39. Good health, but dh has low count and slow moving troops. 2 failed IUIs.

--Now on 1rst IVF cycle, which has gone like this:
06/15 to 24: Follistim and Menopur shots, 150 each
06/25: HCG trigger
06/27: Egg Retrieval. 14 eggs! :-)
06/28: Antibiotics and started progesterone shots. 10 eggs fertilized! :-)
06/28-07/04: Mild to moderate OHSS. :-( Not comfortable, but not so bad to have to cancel transfer. :-)
07/02: Day 5 Embryo Transfer. 2 good embies (blastocytes) transferred. :-) 4 stayed under observation for freezing.
07/04: Progesterone test. All good. None of the extra embies were good to freeze. :-(
07/05: Better from OHSS, though still od'ing on Gatorade to prevent return, which might come if I do get pregnant.
07/06: Waiting.... no symptoms, aside from a couple of mild twinges in lower abdoment... According to the schedule below, implantation should still be occuring.

07/11 is blood test day!

---------------------------

5-Day Blast Transfer - What happens each day after:

Day One: The blastocyst begins to hatch out of its shell
Two:         The blastocyst continues to hatch out of its shell and begins to attach itself to the uterus
Three:      The blastocyst attaches deeper into the uterine lining, beginning implantation
Four:        Implantation continues
Five:        Implantation is complete, cells that will eventually become the placenta and fetus have begun to develop
Six:          Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) starts to enter the blood stream
Seven:     Fetal development continues and hCG continues to be secreted
Eight:       Fetal development continues and hCG continues to be secreted
Nine:        Levels of hCG are now high enough to detect a pregnancy

Well, hello AF, finally. . .at least the week long wait is over.

To: Tasy05 I have been on progesterone and yes it can make your breasts tender. It did to me, along with other symptoms. I would say that being on progesterone and estrogen are going to mimic a pregnancy as far as symptoms are concerned.

Progesterone can be accountable for: constipation, heartburn, breast tenderness, runny nose, and eyesight problems.

Estrogen is responsible for that pregnancy glow, regulating hormones, and the overall development of the fetus.

Hope that helps!

I'm handleing it ok... just wondering if this is going to happen for me and dh. i just have to keep positive and not stress during the tww. this time i promise not to test at all! it's so hard though.

so, i will begin on my 3rd IUI cycle this week and hopefully this will be the one. i see a lot of newcomers here... good luck to you all.

I have one more week of my TWW post 3rd IUI. My Beta is on July 25th.  I'm really hoping this is it! I can't tell if I have symptoms or not as I'm really emotional and have some AF type cramps.  However I'm on Prometrium which gives you all that too. I am currently 6 DPO (also 6 days post IUI - my RE does back to back so the second one was 6 days ago).  I may break down and test later in the week but my Beta is not until next Sunday! Hopefully we can keep each other sane!

Anybody else test??? Korsskat - did you test again? You may have been too early. Testing before your AF is due can often have false negative. Keep the faith for now and keep us posted!

Hi chrisbee,

I am new to this forum.  I am also in the two week wait.  I had some cramping last night but toda seems a bit better.  I had 3 good embryos transferred on Thursday 13th July on day 5.  Today is day 7 for me and I have been good so far about not thinking about it but today is hard as it is Sunday.  I have kept very busy and led a pretty normal work life.

I feel tired, my breasts are very tender but this could be the progesterone or estrogen I am taking.

Keep me updated.  Don't you go for your blood test tomorrow?

Just trying to wait things out, so I thought posting what I am experiencing might help in the meantime. I am 9-11 dpo as far as I can tell. 7/12 moody, light cramping, started talking about fertility treatments out of the blue 7/13 spotted (thought AF was here) 7/14 spotted, moody, BBs full and heavy 7/15 spotted light cramping on left side 7/16 spotted- all the spotting is pink or brown hpt BFN.

I feel like I am a nut, lol. I keep running to the bathroom to see if AF is here. I don't want to get my hopes up b/c I have PCOS and have never been regular, but I just started thinking about babies and then my body decided to act like this. Started prenatals and am planning on taking a blood test on Monday if AF doesn't show. Waiting *****!

Good luck and baby dust to everyone!

Hi,
I just had an IUI today, so I am beginning the 2ww! It was a natural cycle and I ovulated early!  Been taking lots of vitamins and I had two follies, one a good size, so hopefully that one will take!

Korrskat,
Don't let the test get you down. Maybe it was still a little bit early; you never know. And if not, well, hopefully the next cycle will do it!
Keep us updated on what happens.
Big hug

I'm sorry slpfsr to hear about your news. i hope the next cycle is the one for you.

I'm sorry about your ordeal, at least you are back to zero so quickly that you can start trying right away.  Hopefully this will be your month for a sticky pregnancy and high numbers.  I wish you the best.

Hi all,
I just wanted to update you on my status. I did my second BETA today to see if my very low HCG from the first time had doubled, and unfortunately it hadn't. The test came back negative. So something seems to have gone wrong. I'm feeling guilty that I perhaps overdid it on dpr13, as I was a bit more active that day, and had lots of bloating and then pretty strong back pain. I hadn't done an HPT, so I can't be sure, but I think the embryo(s) did implant, but that something went wrong on day 12/13, and then my HCG started dropping by the BETA on the 14th, and disappeared by the 16th (today). Anyway, I'm very sad, but I wish the rest of you much better results and luck!!
Any news for the rest of you that had betas yesterday and today? Lots of sticky baby dust!

Good news I took my HPT today and I got a faint blue positive. My husband was bummed because he thought it was a negative until I read to him what it means out of my "what to expect while conceiving or what to expect before expecting" something like that. He almost fainted because it’s finally real.! I am so happy I am finally able to tell someone. We are waiting to tell family after we see our OB/GYN next week for insurance.

Good luck to everyone. Lots of baby dust to all.

I am also in 2ww. Had IUI on 7/2.  Today is 9dpiui and 11dp trigger shot.  My beta is on 7/16. I could not wait and tested this morning. There is a faint, but visible second line. But I am not sure if it is the HCG shot that I had 11 days ago. Will test again in the morning.

slpfsr: I hope your numbers will double and you will continue to have successful pregnancy. Keep positive thoughts.

Good luck to everyone.

Hi all,
So I got some mixed results from my beta today. I was positive, but the number is very low-10-so it's not clear good news. It's imperative that the level double by Tuesday, when I was told to go for another test. But no one was too positive, and I think they were trying to prepare me for bad news....
Anyway, I'm trying to be as hopeful as I can, while bracing myself. I've read some hopeful stories around the Internet, and I'm staying focused on those...
I also read that day 5 blast transfers sometimes implant more slowly, nut then I don't know what my ohss symptoms were yesterday...
And I'm worried because I'm feeling better, and I would think that if the hcg was still rising, my symptoms of ohss would just be getting worse.
Anyway, I hope for good news on Tuesday and also for all of you with betas tomorrow.

a faint line! that's great slpfsr!  i have to say this is the first forum that has so many positive posts. that's what i need is more positivity. the last forum i was in, it was so negative and i think that plays a major part in what we are all going through. nothing but positive vibes for everyone here.
