#3 failed IUI :(

Hi ladies,  I am new to this site and in need of some help/ advice.  My husband and I have been attempting to get pregnant for several years now.   We have gone through multiple cycles of Clomid initially and now with injections (FOLLISTIM/OVIDRILL).  On the 15th of this month we discovered was our 3rd failed IUI attempt.  Between each attempt we have had to have a rest month due to the number of remaining cysts from the stimulation.  My husband and I are frustrated and at the point now of determining whether to do another cycle of injections with IUI or go to IVF.   Again, I have residual cysts after last month's stimulation and we are once again on a rest month. My Dr. advised us to attempt to become PG the old fashioned way this month.   My Dr. advises me that we can go to IVF if we choose or we can do another IUI cycle. If we decide to do IVF, we need approximately 1 month prep to do a cycle so we need to decide soon in order to be ready for February.  The literature says 3-4 IUI attempts on average should produce a success so I feel like we should give it one more go.  I don't know. I What do you ladies think?  I am anxious to hear your advice and thanks for listening.

It's entirely your choice... IUI is a lot easier than IVF, I will say that. I did IUI 3 times (or was it 4? can't remember now...) and then switched right over to IVF. But I'm 39, so kinda heard that clock tickin'...

i there---i know a little bit of what your going through. I just had my 3rd IUI about 10 days ago with all the same---clomid, then moved to FSH injections with ovidrel. I kept getting cysts with clomid. Then last month,l i had a cyst from the FSH shots so i didnt think i was going to be able to IUI this month or continue with shots but they had me go ahead with it. Anyways----my opinion is...if your insurance covers IVF----i say go for it !
I wish my insurance covered it, if it had, i wouldve gone right to IVF after 1 or two trys...why waste anymore time is the way that i look at it. IVF has better success rates.
This is the furthest step i can take financially or id be at IVF in a heartbeat.
Best of luck to you ,
Jennifer
