Hi
I don't have a success story to share but I woud like to encourage you to keep the faith. I too am 40 and had my 1st miscarriage in Feb. I am ready again this month to try IUI again. I have been travelling this TTC journey now for 5 years. I do believe I WILL concieve again and that this time it will stick. It WILL happen for you too.
Lots of prayers for you
Take good care
I have a feind who is over 40 and she had a MC in Jan and has had 2 failed IUIs since. The Dr has tried to discourage her from trying but she refuses to give up. She is getting ready to start IVF now, and I have a great feeling this will be her cycle. The fact that you can get PG is a positive sign. Just hang onto that.
I ttc since I was 18 and got pg the 1st time at 40. I lost the baby at 12wks due to a torn placenta from over doing it. They did genetic testing on the baby and he was normal. I have since had 2 chemical pregnancies, likely due to old eggs. That's the bad part about being "AMA". We will suffer recurrent losses for the most part. But, if we keep at it, we're likely to find the good egg. I hope the next egg is the good one for you :) Have you though about trying DHEA?
I had a miscarriage after IVF on Christmas of last year. (I am 40 also). I just tried my second IVF - had 4 beautiful embryos transferred and nothing took. It is not as hard as the miscarriage but it hurt so badly. It was failure again. I have done so many IUI's - I am tired of failure too. Don't give up until you are ready. It only takes that one good egg. I have two frozen embryos and will hopefully be able to transfer those in a month or so. I am not giving up yet. Good luck. Like hoping 4 2 said - the fact that you can get pregnant is a positive sign.
Hi, I am 40 yrs old and just had my second miscarriage. My Dr. said I had fibroids and that he wanted to take my uterus. He also wanted to do a d & c. I decided to go for a second opionion and to a Dr. that was an OBGYN. He said my fibroid is the size of a pea, and wasnt in no way a problem, and that I didnt need a d & c, that I had already extracted most of the tissue and that within the next two weeks the rest should extrect (which it did). Asked him why I was having miscarriages and he simply stated my age, that 2 out of 3 pregnancies at my age end in a m/c and to not give up that it will happen. My other Dr was also testing my HCG level weekly and each time it was only climbing by the 100's, which is a red flag, they should be doubling if not more. Im glad I switched Drs, I feel like I have the answers I have been looking for and feel much better that I didnt do anything wrong.... I know its hard but just hang in there and dont give up, having a miscarriage hurts, but its natures way of saying something is very wrong..
