Can Progesterone Cause PG Symptoms?

Can Progesterone cause false pg symptoms? I have been using a OTC progesterone cream from the health food store. I put it on at night before I go to bed and then I don't put any more on when I shower in the morning. Last month I wasn't very consistent about the cream and I had some mild bb pain, not normal for me unless I am on birth control or pg. Anyway, AF showed up right on time and I quit the cream for a week. This month I have been very consistent about the cream and I am having more symptoms--a little more tired, sore bb's, but not so bad it hurts when dh touches them, which is how I usually feel if I am pg, I have been a little hungrier than usual, my bb's feel a little fuller, but not as full as when I am pg, my abdomen is definitely bigger as some of my pants that are not usually tight are and some that I have to wear a belt with, totally don't have to and i haven't gained any weight so I know it is not that. Anyway, I am just stressed because I did a hpt last night and it was BFN but I was only 10dpo. I am just wondering if the progesterone could be causing the mild symptoms, or if I may actually be pg. Any advice would help. I hate the TWW because I get so crazy about every little pain, or craving, or whatever. Anyway, even if no one has any advice it is nice to put my feelings down. Thanks to everyone, I love this forum.

Yep I agree with you all too.  Progestrone does cause BB to hurt, and cause PG like symptoms.  I have taken Prolief by Arbonne (which is a natural Progestrone cream) I am a consultant with them so I get it for 35 or so a pump, it last about 2- months.  But just recently my Dr. put me on Provera which is suppose to jump start my cycle but so far it has been 14 days and still no AF..???? BFN but I have not O yet either.  I am waiting on AF so I can take Clomid.  Anyway the Provera has really made me Moody, hungry, very sore BB and very irritable.  Thank the lord for me DH, he complelty understands and thinks I am funny when I do get moody.

Definately - you have elevated body temp, cramps and breast pain.... all the familiar symptoms.

It will definitely cause pg symptoms.  I have though I was pg many months because of it.  I think the biggest one was the bbs getting big and sore.

I think it can.  I am taking prochieve, but I am preggo and I think it has made my symptoms worse.  Yesterday a majority of it came out (tmi, it is a vaginal cream) and later during the day I didnt feel tired or sick.  But my bbs still hurt.  If you read the side effects too they are all preggo symptoms.
But you never know?
