Thanks for all of the comments ladies. :)
I was told it was a girl at the 12 week u/s (I think I was 13w6d or something like that) and they were right. There is no external genitalia but they can tell the sex if they are skilled (such as in a maternal fetal clinic) by the way the genital tubercle is lining up with the spine.
Here's a medical abstract about it...

We found out at 20 weeks with our last daughter, and with this one, we just found out a week ago today, so that would've been 16 weeks, 5 days! And, it's another girl! :) I was dying to know too, but you'll definately know at 20 weeks! :)
12 weeks 3 days is too early to tell the gender of the baby.. Usually have to be around 20 weeks.. I will have my second level u/s at 19 weeks.. i will know the gender of the baby.
I did have my NT scan around 13 weeks... by that time my doctor can't tell it's a girl or boy..
My NT scan - 1.33mm - as long as it under 2.5mm i think you are good.. :-)
Good luck to you next week...
Thanks. I will be 12w3d at mine. So I do think it will be too early to tell. I will have another u/s at 20 weeks. I am sure we will know then.
I had my NT scan at 11 weeks, 2 days, and it was too early to see if it was a boy or a girl (as a matter of fact, it was still too hard to say at my 15 week appointment...although the baby was not being very cooperative).
After my NT scan, the sonograher did show me the sex organ on one of the photos, and she said, generally the two vertical lines would look more horizontal on a girl and more angelled up on a boy...but neither she or I could tell in my case.
Best of luck next week!
