Back to normal after birth control?

Ok, my husband and I decided that we wanted to start TTC last may (09). I was on birth control and stopped taking it at the end of may. I  have never had regular cycles, but average for me was about every month and a half, maybe 1 month or 2 months sometimes.

Since stopping BC my cycles have not gone back to normal! I would randomly spot every couple of weeks but finally had a full on normal period mid january (2010). So I thought that after 6 months I was finally getting back to normal, but I haven't had anything normal since. Mid march I thought I started again, but it only lasted 1 day. And mid april I thought I started again, but it was super light - barely anything more than spotting, usually I am light-medium for about a week.

Now it has been two weeks since that, and I am spotting again, with heavy clear discharge, it has been several days of that! I am 26. I started tracking my BBT in January, thinking that would help me make some sense of things, but it is all over the place too! Maybe I just have a broken thermometer. lol.

What to do?! Is this normal? How long does this usually take?

make an appointment with a doctor and have him check your hormones, Estrogen, FSH, LH, Thyroid, etc.

I agree that you should make an appt with your Dr. If your cycles are still not back to "normal" that probably means there is something else going on and it is not still due to going off the pill. When I stopped taking the pill I also waited well over a year to see my Dr. I thought my cycles were still just irregular from going off the pill and that's why I wasn't getting pregnant. Now almost 4 yrs later I still have irregular cycles am still ttc (now seeing an RE). I agree with Kricket that you should not wait to see your Dr and get evaluated. I wish I had gone sooner.
