d&c scheduled for tomorrow for miscarriage--need advice

I found out yesterday that I miscarried at some point between last Tues and yesterday (Monday). I was 7 weeks (starting my 8th).  My RE has me scheduled for a d&c tomorrow.  I am doing some research on the internet and came across articles on Asherman's syndrome (adhesions that form after a d&c from scarring). My RE did not even mention this as a possibility.
I am thinking about asking for the medication misoprostol and trying to do it w/out surgery.  Has anyone ever gone through a miscarriage at 7 weeks w misoprostal?  My dr didn't mention this as an option--but I figure most drs want the surgical option just b/c they're doctors anyway.
Please help. I do not want to do anything that will possible affect my future fertility.

Thanks for your responses.  I called my own ob and my friend's dad who is an ob and both said they would go ahead and do the d&c, so that is what I'm going to do.
I do think it's strange that my dr. didn't go over any risk factors (he said there were NO risks to future fertility), did not tell me there were other options (even if he thought a d&c was the best option he could have gone over other options) and seemed dismissive of and annoyed by my questions.
It ***** b/c he's my 3rd RE--I can't find a good one.

i am very sorry about your loss. i have tried the misoprotsol twice. once it seemed to be fine. the other time the pills just kept coming out undissolved --- hours later --- and in the end i had a d&c. i would do a d&c. this way they can take a look and also maybe test any tissue to find you some answers. if you decide to do it on your own, make sure you have someone nearby. it can be scary and painful and come on quite suddenly. then you need to have a dr check you in a few days to make sure you passed it all anyway and avoid infection. i hope you do what is best for you and what helps you heal inside and out.

Hi there,
I am so sorry that you had a m/c. I also had a D&C on Jan 6, 2010.  I questioned my Dr about Ashermans &  just the whole D&C process itself.  He assured me that there was not much scraping because we were m/c so early  (i was 6 weeks).  I started on my own prior to d&C so passed some of it on my own buut honeestly was glad to have the procedure because I felt more comfortable getting it over with.
I am wishing you lots of luck.  Let me know how you feel.

I also had a m/c at 7weeks and had a D&C.  We waited for 2 cycles and started trying again and we got PG in 2 cycles later.  Sorry I don't know anything about Misoprostal.
