CM question

Hello All!

I need a little bit of help, my husband and I have been trying for over 2 (almost 3) years for child #2, We have been using a fertility specialist from Aug 08 - May 09 and decided to take a break, still trying on our own though, just a break from meds, monitoring, etc. Well we got pregnant the first cycle off of treatment but ended as a chemical pregnancy. I am back using my CBEFM to track my ovulation and am currently on cd 17 today (last cycle was 33 days and the one before that was 32 days) I got a high reading yesterday and today and we are BD'ing every other day but my question is, my husband and I BD on Sunday night and yesterday evening (before we BD'd again) I had discharge that was stretchy and clear. I was curious was this a sign of ovulation even though my monitor only showed high?

Well I got my peak reading this morning, so I guess DH and I will be BD'ing tonight, we decided to do every other day this cycle.

I agree with everything alohacandice said.  In a healthy fertile cycle you should see 5 - 7 days of fertile mucus getting more and more EWCM and larger in quantity leading up to ovulation.  One other thought if you are BDing a lot is that seminal fluid looks very similar to EWCM.  Odds are if you are nearing ovulation you are seeing actual cm, however it's not uncommon for people to see seminal fluid and think it's EWCM.  Good luck!

I see ewcm even before my monitor shows high... gets me confused too. we try to BD every day to catch that egg!!

The ewcm is present usually several days before u actually o, thats why it's best to bd 5 days before o and at least one day after, since the egg lives 24 hours, I notice the strectchy ewcm around 5 days before I actually o, it helps keep the sperm alive longer and lets them swim better, good luck....thats why ur monitor says high and ur ewcm, keep bding girl, hope this is ur month
