HI, MY RETRIEVAL WAS 2/20/08 AND HAD 3 DAY TRANSFER OF 2 EMBRYOS ON 2/23/2008 POSITIVE PREGNANCY ON 3/6/08 BETA 282 P4 OVER 100 , SECOND  HCG 620 P4 79.1 3RD HCG 4609 P4 74.4 I WAS SCHEDULED 3/24/08 FOR U/S RE TOLD ME I WOULD BE 6.5 WEEKS AND THERE SHOULD BE A HEARTBEAT WELLLLL THERE IS A SAC BUT IS MEASURING 5.5WEEKS ULTRASOUND TECH SAID MAYBE LATE IMPLANTER????? WAITING FOR RE TO CALL ME

put in your retrival date at the top, be sure to click on the retrival button (not the LMP button), and it will calculate your date for you.
I am 8 weeks today, measuring 7 weeks 3 days. I questioned the ultrasound tech about this,since I did IVF and know exactly when I fertilized, and she told me as long as it's within a week they are happy. And, the measurement was consistent with what I measured a week ago.  Best wished

I would try not to let yourself get too stressed out.  Since the us is doing SO early in IVF there is often a missed heartbeat, it is not uncommon at all.  In a normal pregnancy there would never be an us that early, so a lot of ultrasounds can totally miss the heartbeat.  There is a sac, so that means a pregnancy which is a good sign.  Keep the faith!

HI HEATHER I'M 38 AND THIS IS MY 4TH IVF 2 FAILED AND 1 MISCARRIAGE. I AM GOING ABSOLUTELY INSANE . MY RE TOLD ME SHE EXPECTED TO HEAR A HEARTBEAT ETC... BUT SHE IS 1 HR AWAY SO NOW I  AM IN THE HAND OF MY OB/GYN THE FIRST ULTRASOUND WAS TODAY AND I AM JUST WORRIED BECAUSE THE SAC IS A WEEK BEHIND? I AM SOOO VERY SCARED

Since the eggs were fertilized on 2/20/08, I would use that as "ovulation day" and count back 14 days from that to get your last menstrual period (since it's calculated by LMP, and it's assumed you have a 14 day follicular phase).  So you should probably start counting weeks from 2/6/08, which would make you about 6.5 weeks. Will you be going back for another u/s in a week. It could just be too early. The heartbeat is usually detected sometime during the 6th week, so maybe in your case, it'll happen towards the end of the 6th week. Best of luck!!!
