Shelby hasn't pooped for two days now.  I am wondering if I should call the doctor tomorrow or not?  I don't want to panic but yesterday was the first time since she was born that she hasn't pooped.  Right now she is screaming her full head off.  She's had a bath and I tried to feed her but she just keeps spitting it out.  I'm really frustrated and tired.  She nursed for about 15 minutes but that was it.  What to do what to do....

Hey, ladies!  I'm sorry it's been so long.  This is actually my third time logging on to try to post, but I'm really busy with my little ones.  I hardly have a moment sometimes.  No complaints, just busy! =)  As of 2 1/2 weeks ago, Ricky weighed in at 10 lbs, 2 1/2 oz & Ava was 9 lbs, 4 1/2.  They go back to their pediatrician on Friday for another weigh in.  They're both doing great!  They're smiling and laughing and trying to talk.  It's so much fun & really cute!  When I'm working, I'm a court reporter & so when an attorney wants a transcript of a proceeding I reported, they contact me.  Unfortunately, I've been getting requests from last year & it's been really hard trying to get them done.  Yesterday dh and I went to the courthouse & printed my transcripts and left them for the attorneys to pick up & once we left the courthouse, I felt such a sense of relief!  Now I can focus my time and attention solely on my little ones.


Rachjas:  I'm SO happy for you!!!  I can't believe I missed the news.  Your beta #s are amazing!  Best wishes!!! =)

Help4Baby:  Congrats on the birth of your twins!!!  Post pics soon =)

sbumblebeeo:  I'm sorry it took me so long to get back to you, but I agree with the other ladies.  Give Shelby some formula or formula mixed with breast milk at night.  That will definitely get her to sleep longer.  As far as her not pooping, Ava does the same & today she was screaming her little head off too.  It's so sad! :(  Our pediatrician has told us it's okay to give the babies some water, so you may want to try that.  We just fill a bottle with an ounce or so.  They don't drink much, but it does help move things along ;)  Good luck!

Keyan:  Thank you for the update on Rachjas!  I appreciate you letting me know.  I didn't expect to be away from you guys so long ;)  How are you doing?  How's the adoption process moving along?  Yes, Ricky & Ava turned 3 months last week!!!  It's so hard to believe they're growing so fast.  

Luvkayln:  It's good to see you!  Thanks for the note.  Hopefully I'll get on here more often now.  I've missed you all!  I've decided that I'll stay off work til the second week in August & I'm so happy about that decision! :)  My sister is coming to visit in July & we're excited for her 4 girls to meet Ricky & Ava.  It should be fun!  How's the new house?  Addy must be getting so big!!!  

Leighanne:  How's the house hunt?  That su cks your landlord did that to you guys, but you'll find something better, I'm sure ;)  Are you still thinking about ttc again? :)

kmcarino:  How are you feeling?  I swelled quite a bit too, but surprisingly it was mostly after my babies were born.  I remember freaking out when I looked down & saw my feet!  They were huge ;)  You are getting so close, I can't believe it!!!  Have you decided on a name?

mommyin10- wow they are getting so big.  time starts fliying now enjoy every minute with them.  i loved the buy one get one free shirts.


so i stopped house hunting ladies.  i spoke to the real estate woman and she feels the house will not sell.  if it doesnt sell they are taking it off the market in Sept,  also she said if it does sell, which the seller will not go lower than 350,00 and the house is only worth 270,000, we will have at least 3 months from the time papers are starting to be drawn.  so the lady was really nice and told me to not stress and that me have a great chance is staying here for another year which was our plan to finish fixing my credit to buy our own house.

I talked to the nurse this morning.  She told me that breastfed babies can go a long time without a bowl  movement and that she has seen babies go SEVEN TO TEN DAYS without one.  I almost feel off my chair!  She said if I want to try to give her an ounce or two of water with Kayro syrup I can or a little diluted juice I can.  I was very surprised.  I thought she was way too young for all that but she says no.  I also asked about giving her some forumla in her bottle and she said I can try that if I want but she really doesn't think it is going to make any difference.  She'll start sleeping more when she is ready.  I don't understand that since formula is digested slower it seems to me that it would stick with her longer.  Hmmmm...... Things that make you go hmmmmm

sbumble- ooh i forgot about the kyrosyrup.  i used that 2 times with jaedyn and it works.  i thought he was going to blow his little diaper right off when i gave him that.  I tried not to use it because the firts time i ever did i think he pooped 10 times that day.  poor little guy.  but yes it does work.

They are getting soooo big...can't wait to see new pictures!! I am starting to get nervous and excited!! I still can't believe how short mat leave is in the states...we get a year up here. Which can be split between the mommies and daddies depending what you want to do! But i bet it is nice to sometimes be back in grownup land for a little while seeing how long you were on bedrest!! I know I was on home rest with Sebastian because of vericose (sp?) veins, i could barely walk. I went back to work when he was 4 months old just to have some adult interaction :0) !!

sbumblebeeo:  We've tried water & it seems to work.  I can't believe she said they could go 7-10 days without!  That seems crazy.  I'm gonna double check with our pediatrician on Friday.  Let me know if you try the karo syrup.  I'm hesitant to try that yet.  Formula will definitely get her to sleep more.  It's heavier than your breast milk.  

krichar:  I've been off since Dec. 9 and have been paid the whole time, which is pretty amazing to me.  I saved up so much sick and vacation time while ttc & it's paid off :)  In July, I'll start being off without pay because I'll run out of vacation by then, but I'm allowed the 3 months of baby bonding after maternity (using vacation or no pay) so I'm taking it.  We'll be fine with dh's pay :)

Any advice? Yesterday was my baby shower and after that I had to take my mom home, well after we got to her house I used the bathroom just #1 after that I started to walk down the hall and I felt like I peed my pants (just a lil) so I went back to the bathroom just to make sure nothing was there and my undies were just a little wet....so I figured he just pushed on my bladder...well then I proceeded onto the porch and there it was again!?! It happened like 5 times last night. So I called my Ob this morning just to be on the safe side. She wanted to see me. She did this test and it showed there wasn't any fluid which was great....

but Conners heart beat sounds funny again....like there is an extra beat, so she sent me to the hospital for a non stress test, he wasn't in any stress, but they caught the irregular heart beat too. So I have to call her office tomorrow to see what I am suppose to do....whether we have to see a specialist or what. I am going to ask if the med she gave me for contractions (brethine) will cause that with him. I know one of the side effects for me is rapid heart beat....does anyone know anything about it? I also have another UTI and a yeast infection!

I'll let you know what I find out tomorrow!

Mommyin10- Yayy, you're back! :) We've missed you around here! I know you're SO busy, especially now with working from home! I love the idea that you're not going back to work until mid-August! So that means we'll plan our trip for the beginning of August to visit my mil so we can meet up with you and not have to work around a work schedule! :) Just a baby schedule, of course, lol! ;) It'll be cute to see the babies together! Addy LOVES babies! You should've seen her yesterday at our work meeting. A friend of mine there just had her baby girl 4 weeks ago, and Addy was reaching for her, touching her head and trying to pull at her clothes! It was adorable! :) It's funny b/c we're allowed to bring our babies to the meetings, it's almost like an extension of the "winery family!" :) I can't believe how big the twins are getting, and already 3 months old?! Wow!! Addy will be 6 months in a couple weeks, unbelievable!! We're getting all stocked up on size 3 diapers! :)

Sbumblebeeo- This is a little late, but I remember when we first brought Addy home, our discharge papers said if she doesn't have a bowl movement for 48-72 hours to call her doctor. She had her first bm in the hospital, but did go 3 days without having one when we brought her home, so I moved her first appointment to a day before her scheduled time, b/c I was worried about it. All she had to do was stick a q-tip in there just a bit, and she did her thing! Hopefully the water worked for Shelby, it's less painful!! From my experience, I can agree with what the nurse told you about the formula not making a difference only b/c that's how it was with Addy. She slept through the night when she was ready, it didn't matter if I gave her breastmilk, formula or a mix. But every baby is different, so Shelby might take to it! :)

Rachjas- Any more betas?? First u/s scheduled yet? :)

Ad_06- Hhmm... not really sure about that one! I'm glad they caught it though, I'm sure it does have something to do with your meds, especially if they told you it can be a side affect for you. Keep us posted!!

What a time you are having.  I was on contraction meds and it didn't do that to Shelby so I wouldn't think that would cause any issue with Conner but I don't know for sure.  I also had the same fluid issues and unfortunatly we were at 25 weeks and told no sex for the rest of my pregnancy and to lay down as much as possible.  4 weeks later I was put on bedrest.  It's so scarey going through it.  I feel for you.  I just hope you get answers from your doctor that will ease your mind a little.

I talked to the nurse at my Ob this morning and she is setting me up an appt  to see a specialist. She said that it might take a few days to get everything arranged. So I will let you know something when I do.

sbumblebeeo - I didn't think it would effect him like that either,  but it was the only thing I could come up with that has changed. Hopefully it's nothing major and we will find something out when I go see this specialist.

I will keep you ladies posted.. Oh, my appt date changed to the 8th since she saw me yesterday.

That is awesome that you are able to do that, alot of places don't let bank sickdays and vacation. With me i have no paid sick days or vacation at my job because i am just casual. I choose to work that way because of all of Sebastian's "issues" I need to be available whenever he needs me and he can't go to daycare or a dayhome. I only trust family and close friends to watch him...but i work everyday so it works out for me!!  

That is so cute that ricky and ava are starting to try to talk...i love that stage!!! I bet they are getting soooo big!!

AFM, my next appt is tomorrow night.  My feet and ankles are swollen but I am feeling ok.  I am trying to get stuff done on my list before he is born.  I have top pack my hospital bag too.  My husband still needs to paint the room.  My belly was measuring at 34 last week when it really should hav e been 36 so she said that tomorrow if it is still measuring small that I will have to go get an ultrasound.  We will not name him until we see him, but it looks like it will probably be Ryan Joseph.

I am glad everyone is doing well.  The babies are growing up so fast!

No word yet....I called the nurse today and she said that she faxed all the info to them....she was just waiting for them to get back to her. Then I decided to go to my parents for a while and I get home the nurse had called, but never left a message!!!! WTH? So I am calling her back in the morning!!! She also said that I need a non stress test done every week now, so I will go every Monday. I'll keep you posted!

Anybody have any unused IVF meds to spare? Starting my 3rd cycle and are paying out of pocket for everything. Im out about $27,000 and no baby. So if anyone wants to help im going to really appreciate it. I know for my last cycle I helped others giving my meds so just thought i'd ask.
