has anyone ovulated early before IVF retrieval

The nurse told me to take my last dose of lupron last night and my retrieval is Sunday morning.  I am having what feels like ovulation cramps and ewcm and am afraid I'll ovulate before Sunday.
I called the office but the nurse (who clearly didn't want to be bothered) said no, you won't (can't) ovulate before Sunday. But once I'm off the lupron, nothing is stopping me from ovulating, right?
When did other people quit taking the lupron? I'm doing the hcg shot tonight...

Yes, I switched doctors after the iui debacle.  I wasn't about to trust him to do an ivf if he couldn't do an iui correctly...

I just want to share my story.I did my 1st ivf last month with PGS testing. They collected 23 eggs, 19 fertilized but only 4 made it to blast stage and were biopsies. Unfortunately all 4 were abnormal and I had no eggs to put back. I was put on birth control after the 1st ivf for 3 weeks and was going to start another cycle if ivf. My medication arrived and I was going to start cycle 2 but I had been feeling so nauseated I just couldn't explain it. I had a pregnant test at home and took it. The pregnant like was very dark compared to control. I was freaking out because I knew that no eggs were put back with ivf 1 and I was in birth control during 2nd month. I saw my ob at home and checked my bhcg which was over 170000. We did an us and found a bean with a hb of 146 measuring right on track for lmp at ivf.
I ovulated before the egg retrival, I don't know how many eggs cause they still collected 23 eggs and got pregnant naturally. If I didn't get pregnant I would have never know I ovulated some before retrival. Even my RE was perplexed. They said my LH before retrival didn't indicate I ovulated.

Hi.. do you think you got pregnant by having sex soon before your retrieval? Im in the midst of treatment and was curious if this could happen. Thanks for sharing your story and congratulations.
PS I also had about 20 something, 19 fert, 4 embryos and all abnormal. Totally crazy when you think you have the numbers!

Unfortunately this did happen to me on one of my cycles. I finished my injections on the Sunday, took the trigger on Monday and went for pick up Wednesday morning. Came out of theatre only to be told that I had already ovulated. FS I'd he had no explanation and it was very rare. My own thoughts were that they held me a little longer than my natural cycle and perhaps my LH was ready to surge and therefore I'd ovulated.

Trying another cycle now and am very fearful. Having ovulation pains, twinning on the left ovary for about 30 Minutes and mucous is no longer clear and stringy. Would like to do another scan before going to theatre tomorrow morning, hopefully they will do it and not think I'm being foolish.

hello again.  i don't know if you switched doctors, but if you think your ivf team didn't do your iui's the right way, i would switch doctors.  i read this multiple times from different ivf clinic websites.
obviously you are in the middle of an ivf treatment so if you are with the same doctors, it'll be too late to change.  so just trust that they are doing the right thing for you.  relax for now.. and good luck.  after this, should things not work out (i hope it does and you get a bfp :)), you should check another doctor.
GOOD luck :)

I finished injections on a Friday, triggered Saturday, and retrieved Monday morning. Sounds like you are on track. I don't think I ever fully understood everything but had to trust my RE knew a little more than I  :-)  Good luck Sunday!

Thanks for the info.  I was wondering if the front runners popped out early, if I would lose all the eggs.  But it sounds like even if a few are released early, the other ones won't be.
I just didn't want to get in there and have them say "oops, we missed it." That happened on one of my iuis so I'm more concerned than the average person.
Thanks again

if your retrieval is sunday, your ovaries are full of follicles (with or without eggs).  i'm not clear about what you mean about ovulating.  if you mean you are afraid you might loose some of your follicles/eggs before retrieval, the answer is possible.  and you nor your doctor has control over this.  normally you can tell if there are what they call 'front runners' - follicles/eggs that are bigger than the rest and sometimes these guys will pop out of your ovaries before you are due for retrieval.
i'm having my retrieval tomorrow morning and i had my hcg shot last night.  in my past ivf cycles, i've lost some follicles/egg before retrieval.  it is normal because they cannot possibly catch all the follicles/eggs at the same time because some will mature faster than others, so they try to retrieve your follicles/eggs at the time when majority of them are ready and when your estrogen level is right.  you can gather all these information from your ultrasound and blood estrogen level.
i hope this helps.

Well, my protocol for my lupron  is the same way... so I guess they must know what they are taking about?   I guess maybe your ovaries would have to "come back up" in order for you to ovulate, and that can't happen that quick?  Hopefully someone will shed some light on this for us.
