Decreasing HCG after IVF

Hi
I had ivf transfer done on 1-7-09 on 1-18-09 dr. told me i was pregnant with a hcg level of 27 but progestrone was still low. So they doubled my prometrium(200mg) that i was taking 2 a day to 4 aday. Two days later more blodd was taken and dr. says hcg level went down to 18.Doc wont give me much info and im scared.Been trying for child for 5 years now.Can the hcg level still go up after i stopped the progestrone? Did the doc do the wrong thing by doubling the dosage? Please can some one shed some light so i dont lose my mind with worry.

I also wanted to send my apologies to you.
I have just gone through the same thing 2 weeks ago. That was my second attempt at IVF.  It is just heartbreaking, and I can completely understand what you are going through.
sending lots of hugs!!

Hi. First of all wanted to tell you i'm sorry that your levels are going down which is never a good sign.Hcg should double not go down. But your first beta was very low even though was the first one.Ussually thr first beta is preferable around 80 and up. doublind the progesterone was not a bad thing. See if the beta goes up but is still the same level or down yuor preganancy is not vialable.I'm sorry
