Our donor cycle was $18K which is a little cheaper than the national average - our IVF cycle w/my eggs was $12K including meds. We got a discount on the donor cycle when we used leftover meds from the previous cycle and another 5% for paying upfront. I hope this helps - what makes donor eggs more expensive is the donor fee - you're not paying for the eggs - paying mainly for the donor's time. Please pm me if you have any questions.
Mysty's right - donor embryos are quite inexpensive - in the $2-3K range. I hope this helps!
Donor eggs is not cheaper
BUT donor embryos is WAY cheaper
IVF is 10-20 thousand. WIth donor embryos it is in the 2-3 thousand range!
I'm also interested in the option of using donor eggs. How does the price compare to IVF? I'm sure it is cheaper, but I don't know the cost. Any help would be great.
How about donor embryos so you do not bring any more unwanted frozen embies into this world? It is cheaper, faster, and more anonymous
Awwww, babyprayers, you're so sweet about my little boy!! I did a donor cycle last year & delivered a baby boy last April (has it been that long??). It was the best decision I've ever made in regard to fertility. I too had a failed IVF cycle probably due to my age (43 at the time) and I went straight to donor eggs. I didn't want to experience that again since there was nothing I could do about turning back the clock on my poor eggs.
PM me if you have any questions and babyprayers, your twins are pretty sweet too!!
I have twins!! using donor, also 40s momma used donor and has a beautiful little boy.. good luck to you
