Embryos wont imbed

Hi,

we've gone through 4 full cycles of ICSI, and one frozen. Am doing a test tomorrow but I dont feel pregnant so dont hold out much hope - Igot pregnant on our second cycle, but had a delayed miscarriage - at the first scan it wasn't very big, a week later (7 weeks) it was the size it should have been at 4.5 weeks and at week 8 it had died. The last two cycles I've had three embryos put back in as I'm now over 40 - we had a 4, 6 & 8 cell last time and a 4,7 &8 this time, all AB grades - have always harvested loads of eggs 8, 20, 16 & 15 and the fertilization rate has been good. BUT  - They just wont implant.................has anyone had any additional tests or can anyone give any advice with where to go next??

Sal

This is my 3rd IVF attempt with ICSI and we have done assisted hatching this time.  It is a process where before the embies are transferred back in they laser off the outer shell so that the embies don't have to hatch on their own and implant.  This process removes the embie from hatching on its own so in theory when it is placed in the uterus it will immediately attach.  I am 7dp3dt today and my beta is next Friday.  I've had alot more different symptoms this cycle than I ever had and normall by 7dp my boobs stopped hurting and I have woken up with a migraine and then AF shows up 2 or so days later.  So far today no migraine yet and my boobs still hurt more than ever.

I was ask your RE about the assisted hatching.

My first attempt at IVF didn't work and I had loads of eggs and good cell count too. My doctor suggested that they do an ultrasound to look at my uterus and they found 2 small polyps.  He suggested that they remove them before my second attempt at IVF.  Maybe you should look into doing the same.  He said that depending on where the embryos implant in your uterus will determine if the polyps are a factor.  They could be blocking implantation.  Good Luck!

HI

I just thought I would comment as I talked to my doc about my failed IVF. He said that most times it is the embryos that are not good enough. They might look it but they may lack some chromosomes to keep growing healthy. and it is impossible to know in only 5 days of growing them. Obviously the problem is not allways the embryo but most of the time it is.

I am not saying this is what is wrong in your case but keep it in mind.

I hope it works for you soon.
