Reassurance

Hi all, I've just spent the last hour reading some of the posts and the answer to my concerns is written there.  Just to to tell you a little bit about me, I'm 44, my husband and I have been giving through our first ICSI, the short 'antagonistic' approach.  It has been a very short, but intense time. We were lucky enough to have 9 eggs and 6 fertilise, 2 transferred on the 24th and PT due on 4th Feb.  I am taking 200mg progesterone twice a day, but rectally not vaginally as a lot of you seem to be.  I woke up this morning to discover light spotting/bleeding. I felt utterly distressed as to me it seemed that that was it, but reading all of your posts it seems like it is common in a lot of women. I am obviously worried, but will take advise from you all and try and relax, drink lots of water and generally chill.  I will also give clinic a call in the morning if it continues. Any more advise is most welcome.  x

I'm feeling very resigned to the fact I think it hasn't worked :-( I'm still bleeding, it's now turned a brighter red from being dark red for the last couple of days.  It's not like a period, in the respect that I don't need to use protection, it's only when I go to the loo.  I'm trying to see this as a good sign? What do you think? I know I'm going to just have to wait and it's only until tomorrow morning, but it's excruciating!

Thank you!  It has left me feeling so emotional and the worry just sits there alongside everything.  I'm grateful for this website and the support it brings with lots of 'want to be mums' going through their own journey and for my husband who is amazing :-)

It is a very common side effect of taking progesterone. Call the clinic anyway but it shouldn't be anything to worry about. Good luck :)
