Clomid can do 2 things. First, it can help you release more than one egg thus increasing your chances. Also, it can improve the quality of the egg you are releasing.
I hope it works for you!!!
I tried clear blue easy OPKs with clomid and it worked well. Just make sure you start testing at least 2 days after your last clomid pill or else you can get a false positive.
Thanks this is helpful. Congrats on your pregnancy!!! It's really helpful hearing positive news.
Hi. I ovulate on my own, but just had my first cycle of clomid, 50 mg. My doctor says (as Helen72 did) that it can increase egg quantity. I had an ultrasound after taking the clomid & had one 18mm egg in my left ovary. So, maybe that means without clomid, my eggs were not as big? I'm not sure, but my doctor was satisfied that I'm responding well to the clomid. We'll just have to wait and see. :)
As far as the clearblue easy opks, yes, I use those religiously ! I need to see that happy face to know for sure it's a positive ! :) Again, this is my first cycle on clomid, but I started using the opks on CD11 & got negatives until CD15. Then I got a positive CD15-17 and a negative on CD18. So, I'm not sure why I got so many positives, but I'm guessing I ovulated CD18.
Hope this helps even a little bit ! Good luck to you !!! :)
I ovulate on my own but took clomid to increase egg quantity and quality, it took awhile, but it worked!
That's awesome to hear! How many months did it take? Did you do anything else? Take Robitussin to help thin mucus? Eliminate caffeine 100%?
Congrats on the prenancy! Try not to read too much into the Down syndrome warning.....my friend was pregnant with twins and her dr. told her the same thing. She delivered two healthy boys!
That's great they saw an egg! Atleast it's been confirmed you are ovulating....that's half the battle. My dr. didn't do an ultrasound following my 1st cycle of clomid, which I found odd. Good to hear you like the predictor kits. They are expensive, but at this point I do not care!
I am starting Femara this month, but it is similar as far as overall effect. I ovulate regularly, but my RE says it may improve ovulation and produce more than one egg, which could improve my chances of conceiving. Clomid and Femara will not necessarily lead to a better outcome (m/c rates are still the same as without), but the superovulation may improve the odds that one egg will make it.
She also said the Clear Blue Easy OPKs are the most reliable. I have had good luck getting pregnant with them (but m/c all). If you plan to do Clomid w/IUI, you should definitely use those, preferably the ones with the 2 lines as you need to call in when you see a light test line (no need to wait until a dark one). Not the smiley face ones...although those may be easier to read when not doing IUI.
I started this pills chlomi yesterday to produce more eggs, and the Dr will do a procedure on me next week to see if my tubes aren't blocked I've been trying to get pregnant since two years now, my daughter will be 5 this july.i hope I get a miracle..
