Fertility after LEEP?

I hate to be a pain about this but no one can answer me and I find conflicting things on the internet.  I had my LEEP  yesterday and I am concerned that I received a cone biopsy.  I have a unique situation where my regular OB moved and another doctor is covering his patients until they get a new physician in their office.  My regular OB and staff made it seem like a LEEP and a cone biopsy were two completely different things, saying they wouldn't give me a cone biopsy because I am 25 with no children yet and a LEEP would be less invasive.  However yesterday when they were hooking me up to the IV's (they give LEEPs here in the same day surgery center, and knock you out with general anesthesia) I noticed "cone biopsy" on my paper and immediately started crying and freaking out.  They had the doctor performing the surgery come talk to me and in his rude tone told me that a LEEP and cone biopsy are the same thing?!  I see things on the internet that they are different and then I see things that they are the same.  Does anyone know the answer to this?!  And has my fertility been impaired with these operations?

thanks allie!  i have to wait for my post-op on August 6th before I can really talk to the doctor and figure out what exactly he did, although my regular OBGYN staff is going to try and get me in to look at my cervix.  We hope to start Clomid after I am healed up as this past year and a half has been such a roller coaster with my reproductive system. I don't ovulate it seems so hopefully the Clomid will help. Good luck with the IVF and please keep me posted :)

hi-Sorry for your experience and I am not sure I can help much.  But I did have a LEEP in 2005.  You are lucky you had general anasthesia!  They gave me NOTHING and it was not pleasant!  It was my understanding cone and LEEP were different.  I just had my 4th IUI cylce fail and am starting IVF in August, but everyone keeps telling me it is not bc of the LEEP-I have unexplained infertility.  So, not sure if I helped at all but I hope you find the answers ou need.
