First round of IUI

Hi All,

I was just wondering if anyone has had success with their first round of IUI??? I am on Clomid, had IUI yesterday and today, and will start progesterone and baby asprin tomorrow. All is new for me except for the Clomid. DH produced 68 million yesterday and 91 million today (an overachiever i swear!) with excellent motility! Per u/s I had 6 follies but only 4 that were mature enough to matter.

I'm trying to keep my hopes high and stay positive thru the next 2 weeks...anyone have uplifting stories?!?!? :) Or in the same boat??

today i test, even though dr. said i should test before 10day after HCG shot. BFN :)

so the result next week will not because of the shot.

Did you have an HSG at all? Or did it show clear yet you still had issues w/ tubes (adhesions, etc).

Chinupz - I am supposed to start the progesterone tomorrow and it is the vaginal suppository called Endometrin. My RE said its less messy than the gel!!

Tanker and JustMe - Thank you for giving me hope! I really need it. I hate the 2WW. I was so optimistic last month with just the Clomid and so let down when it didnt work. I just needed to hear that this has worked for others. I have NOT had a laporoscopy. Mainly because I don't have PCOS or any other indications of ovarian or uteran problems. My infertility is related to my longstanding Crohns disease/colitis and a major surgery last Feb that probably caused some adhesions and such.

Bellahope, ChinUp and Anya - Keep me posted on your progress too! I go in for a test in a couple of weeks. I'm just crossing everything and hoping that this is my month (and all of yours too!!).

I am doing my first iui this month as well. I am pretty excited but a bit nervous it may not work the first time. I have 2 friends that have done it and both got pregnant..one on the first try and the other on the second.  I hope and pray this is how it is for us!

Hello ladies, I have had 2 m/c and 1 ectopic.  After a year of trying after my last m/c we seeked help from a fertility doctor...The first thing we tried was iui's.  Sadly for me I had 3 unsuccessful cycles of iui's while on clomid, hcg injections and one cycle of progestrone.  After that didn't work I had a laparoscopy done and surgery to remove endomitriosis and adhesions from both tubes.  I had no clue I had either.  The adhesions caused me to have the ectopic.  Well, after my surgery my doc told me that he seen me getting pregnant within the next 6 months and 5 months later I found out I was pregnant...I am now 22.5 weks and everything looks great.....Have you had a laparoscopy done????

Hi Jenn, so you were on Clomid and got O? I was on Clomid for 2 rounds and didn't get O. I also have PCOS syndrom which means too many follicles in each ovary..I was told by my doctor that it will be hard to stimulate. Im on Metformin now to get my Ovulation and if that won't happen, will move to injectables with IUI..
Please let me know about clomid and if your IUI was successful!

I got pg on my first IUI with 2 mature follicles..  Unfortunately it didn't work out because it ended up being ectopic, but in the big picture it was still a success because it meant that I could get pg.  The second IUI didn't work but my chance were really low because the follicles were on the side without a fallopian tube.  My third IUI, I only had one mature follicle but that was all I needed.. I'm now 35wks pg.

we are in the same boat. i was on 4th clomid cycle and had 1st iui today. what type of progesterone did your dr rx you? mine asked me to buy the gel type, which is $300 (while the pills are only $6). I only have 1 good follicle, so there will be no more twin for me :)

and tonight we will go eat out.
