does medication interfer with home test

Hi, i had a 5 day transfer using a donor egg, i had a slight bleed 6 days later and a little spotting for a couple of days. I presumed i was loosing it but read about implantation spotting. I rung hospital and adviced to rest. I could not wait another 6 days to take their test so i bought a home one from the chemist and it came back positive, the next day i did another and that is positive, when i rung the hospital they said that the medication i am on could have caused it buti am only on hrt to keep the linning of my womb thick, i am due to take their test on Monday, has anyone else experienced this. Thankyou.

What us hrt? is it prometrium? progestrone?

The only med i know that can give u a false + is the trigger shot or hcg shot.  i will ask the girls in my forum who are all doing ivf. feel free to join us.

I think rmmoye is right. The only med that could influence your results would be the trigger shot. However, there are some situations when they prescribe HCG (Pregnyl, Profas, Novarel) after the transfer - to help with implantation.
If you are not taking any oh these, chances are that you are pregnant :-)
