Pregnant and BLEEDING

Ladies,

I am 9 weeks and 4 days pregnant.  I had bleeding on 8/29 like a normal period.  I went to my doctor and he did the ultra sound and everything was fine with my little one.  Well he put me on bed rest for two weeks.  After one week the bleeding stopped.  It was just like a normal period for me.  Now 25 days later I start bleeding again. So now I am very confused.  I had a doctors appt on Friday they did a ultrasound and said that my little one was doing fine.  The doctor said that he was going to do a papsmear and some other exam to check I do not know what from the uterus.  Well since my DH went with me to the appt he said the doc took out a sample and put it in the jar.  All I know is that I felt a pinch.  Well I was told that I was going to have some spotting due to the exam but he did not tell me I was going to have a period!  So now I am very confused!  Am I in risk of MC, or am I going to have a cycle, or am I bleeding due the exam?  Any thoughts?

Thanks Ladies for your comments.  I am doing better now.  I was put on bed rest for two weeks.  I do not have anymore bleeding THANK GOD! But I did have a pool of blood in the uterus.  I went for a doc's appt on Thursday they did a ultrasound and the pool of blood has gone down so it's much smaller!  I guess the uterus is going to take in all that blood!  Someone is looking out for me and my little one!  I am now 10 weeks and 4days.

I can tell you that it's possible your cervix got so irritated you are getting all that bleeding from it....
I've had very heavy spotting more than a couple of times this pregnancy, im on week 8 and just a couple of days ago I stopped.....it was like 3 or 4 days of nasty stuff coming out! I had an ultrasound and showed my little one in there...no pool of blood in the uterus, nothing. The other time, OB checked me and my cervix was closed, no signs of any problem other than spotting!.....i am on progesterone suppositories and i want to think that is part of the problem.....irritation in the cervix, they say it's so engorded with blood right now that anything that would break any little vessel would be very 'scandalous' down there....

The pap took cells from your cervix to check for abnormal cells. It shouldn't cause a heavy bleed, just light spotting. Some women do have periods though part of their pregnancies. My sister did for 3-4 cycles with all 3 of her boys. I would stay on very light duty, no lifting or straining until next u/s at least. It may be placenta previa, which the u/s would detect. Bedrest would be likely if that is the case. Many other things can cause bleeding as well. Not all are necessarily bad.

Call your doctor.Even if you went there on Friday I would ask him to see you immediatly.
I'm sure that everyhting is going to be ok but another check with him will not hurt.
