HSG Procedure

Is HSG procedure is painful & will it help in TTC soon ? I will be doing this test soon & little bit nervous about it.

Hi ! Thank you so much for your information & encouragement. Even my RE suggested me to take Advil 1 hr before the procedure. I don't know when I am going th do this test. First my AF has to come & only after that my RE will do all these test. Hopefully by god's grace everything should be ok.

Hey friend. I had on back in March/April and it wasn't bad at all. I had to have one before my OB prescribed clomid. She said there was no point in taking clomid to ovulate if my tubes were closed so I had the test. I was very nervous about it, but it wasn't bad at all. Now, don't get me wrong there was some pain. Really it was cramping when the doctor inserted the ballon in my cervix. That was the worse part. Once that was over, he released the dye and I was able to see my OPEN TUBES! It was nice to get immediate results and feedback. Then my OB followed up confirming that my tubes were open. Just take some advil or something before you and you should be fine. From my understanding, the people who feel the most pain are the ones whose tubes are in fact closed. The pain comes from the dye trying to get through.

Hopefully, you won't have to worry about that because your tubes are open. They also say that this procedure helps flush out the system and that several women get pregnant shortly after. Though I didn't, doesn't mean you won't. Good luck and please let me know how it goes!!
