That seems impossible to jump that much in 2 months. Have you asked to be retested?
I used 112, then 175 of follistim the first cycle. Second one, we used 175 then 225 and luveris. we had 3 dominant follicles over 18 and 1 close behind the rest were to small. I had my preg test this morning, havent' got my results but I know I am geting AF, so we will be moving on to IVF.
Hopefully with higher stimulation if the number is correct you will produce more dominant follicles. Though it still seems like to much of a jump in 2 months, I would insist on being tested again, just to be sure.
Well I do get AFC of 14-15 follicles but I'm still a poor responder - Out of those only 2 matured to 19mm, the rest were 15mm and below after 11 days of stimming. So I know this isn't great - BUT i should say this was my first cycle of injectables and RE was sure I would over-respond if anything so they were very light on the follistim dose (75IU, later increased to 112IU's but still this is nothing).
When I do IVF it will probably be much higher amounts which is what I'm counting on.. I'm also looking into MINI stim which involves one dominant egg, recruiting fewer but of better quality, Have you heard of this? Was 10.6 your highest reading? How do you respond to stims? I just don't get this at all - in July we did the Clomid Challenge and my FSH was a 6.9 at baseline, and a 6 on CD10 which means I did great. So basically my ovaries aged 20 years in 2 months. I know they don't say it's a result of meds but I can't help but think so..
Hi,
22 seems very young to have an FSH level that high. It can vary from month to month, and my dr, said that for the most part outside factors do not contribute to the number, though they are constantly doing studies for alcohol and caffeine to see if it does, but as of now, it is just something that happens. My primary dr. told me mine was in the normal range when I started testing and when I went to the fertility dr. It was 10.6 which is high, and represents DOR. I had it tested for 3 months in a row, and though it varied, it was high and I was diagnosed with DOR. Which *****.
From what you said with the amount of follicles you have, it does sound like the second blood test may be wrong. 14-15 follicles would be very high for DOR.
If in fact your FSH number is correct and you are stimulating that many follicles, and if they are reaching maturity, I would ask the dr. about invitro, as that way you can freeze embryos, that way if your body has trouble later responding to stimulation or follicles reaching maturity, you won't have to worry.
I would definately have it checked again, because like I said with 14-15 follicles, that is very high for someone with DOR.
