High Prolactin

Please help!

I have had tests  for fertility and found that i had high prolactin levels.  My consutant prescibed me Quinogolide, which has brought my levels down to normal.  For the last six months i have been check to see if i am ovulatiing but its always negative.  What  do you think i should do?  Is it just a case of taking a higher medication?

Might sound scary, but I would ask for an MRI of your pituitary; or at least for a further explanation of why your prolactin is high (do you know how high?). Just bringing your prolactin down does not ensure ovulation; you may need to have your ovulation induced with GnRH (http://www.ivf.com/gnrh.html). I have a one year old son and just finished another cycle using that method (high prolactin due to a pituitary adenoma); 2WW right now, fingers crossed for baby #2! Hope this helps.

Ask your dr to check your cd21 progesterone levels to make sure you ovulate.  If not, that can be corrected with a simple medication.
Good luck!
