IVF Success stories

I am in my first IVF cycle. My ER will be next week and the transfer will be 5 days later if all goes well. For those ladies who had a successful IVF cycle, is there anything you think made a difference? Acupuncture? assisted hatching? ICSI? anything you ate or did differently? I would love to hear about success stories and any advice for what to do to increase my chances is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Shannon

Thank you for the stories! We are not scheduled to have ICSI with this IVF unless the embryologist thinks it's necessary on that day. I'm surprised to see so many of you used ICSI. I am taking the day of the ET off and I plan on getting lots of sleep during the tww. I will also make sure to think pleasant thoughts.

My fourth icsi procedure was a success, i am now 19weeks pregnant with twin girls. It can happen, just be optomistic and relax. Never give up. Its a long emotional journey that many couples go through.  Be happy with your doctor of choice and dont be scared to ask questions.
Good luck to all

i was successful with my first ivf w/ icsi & am 24wks 4d pregnant :) my main thing was to relax and try REALLY hard not to think negative thoughts. I had a great support system who kept me positive & I think it really helped out a lot!

Thanks for responding. all of your answers had 1 thing in common: it's important to relax. I will try my best, but it is the one thing I'm really not good at.

we did IVF with ICSI and a 3 day transfer and i am 32 weeks pregnant from the first attempt.
i did acupuncture before and after the transfer, as well as 1 week afterwards.
she also prescribed an herbal tea to drink twice a day until i found out i was pregnant.
i followed my doctors instructions regarding bed rest for 24 hours after the transfer, then resumed my normal activities.
definitely RELAX, try not to overanalyze and drive yourself crazy.
good luck!

Hello,  I had my first beta yesterday after IVF - and got a BFP!!!  -
I did a lot of relaxing -I even had a few naps during the day - very unlike me!   I slept on my back for 7 days after transfer, with a pillow under my knees  (usually i'm a side sleeper) to try to stay in the same position to help the implantation!  I had a tissue with me so if I needed to sneeze or cough I could stop myself! (was very paranoid about that!)   Watched a lot of rubbish TV that took my mind of everything!   I became a hermit and didn't see anyone socially during the 2ww - Also I had acupunture throughout which helped me to calm down!   and also listened to an IVF Meditation CD   (only on 'good days' when I felt positive - on bad days the cd stressed me out!)
I honestly don't know if any of that made a difference, I still went slightly loopy on this emotional rollercoaster!  and i'm amazed we have a positive - the cycle had not gone so well and was nearly cancelled a few times before ER!   Good luck to you :) I think the best thing, is to do what ever makes YOU feel calm - and listen to your doctor's advice!!

Hi, i failed my 1st IVF due to my body rejecting the whole process, 2nd time round i went with GIFT and ICIS, it worked, i m pregnant. The best advice is to rest and relax, its not easy during the 2ww, but hang in. I had lots of bed rest and always had my feet up, took folic acid and centrum materna tablets daily with progestone injections. I drank alot of liquids ( pineapple juice is good for implantation) and ate fresh fruit and vege.

Baby dust and all the best to u
