I better be pregnant - or I am going to be really depressed! (Actually funny story!)

Alright - I have been debating on if I should tell everyone this story because, frankly, I am completely embarrassed.

Here goes: My bloated A** goes to the library after work yesterday to pick up some reading books for my daughter and see if any new stuff is in. Anyway, I see an old friend of mine I haven't seen in about a year and a half (about the same amount of time since I put on all of these pounds from the fertility drugs (and lack of exericising)!). Anyway - he is a tall and BIG boy. Probably 6'4 - 400 plus lbs (he is my teddy bear). He is sitting at the computers in the library and I walk up to him and say Hey and all that junk. He and I shoot the s**t for a few minutes and then he asks how I am doing - I say fine and he then POINTS TO MY STOMACH and smiles. I can't figure out what the hell he is pointing to. I had books in my hand, keys in my hand , all near my stomach so I am HOPING AND PRAYING he is pointing at one of those. BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO - He says congrats and I look him dead in the eye - smile - and say "Nope not preggo just FAT". Smiled and said I had to go. I kinda felt bad for him but I went to look for some books and when I came back to the section with computers, about 30 seconds later, he was NO WHERE to be found. So, needless to say, I want to gorge myself on chocolate and just veg for the rest of my pathetic FATA** life :( Sorry, I was just being funny. I know I have put on a lot of weight (like 40 lbs in a year and a half - give or take) and I hate it. But I am too scared to do anything about it because I swear it will just MESS something up and I will have blamed it on the exercise - I SWEAR I am not justifying my fatness :)

ANyway - I had to tell yo uladies. I have never really had that done where someone blatently CALLED me preggo without at least ASKING first - heck, is that too much to ask. If I was preggo and wanted him to know I would have told him the second I saw him. UGH - men suck....

science - I have a kinda similar story - I went to my daughter's open house.  A man my husband knew looked at my stomach (I was wearing a flowing-like top) and said boy, I bet you guys can't wait!  I was thinking in my head  - WTF?  Then after a few awkward seconds, I finally guessed it and said oh, you think I'm pregnant.  He looked embarrassed - actually I had a baby 4 months ago.  I lost all of the pregnancy weight plus 4 pounds and then I gained most of it back so I'm hugely depressed.  I don't even (right now anyway) have fertility drugs to blame it on.  I hope for a BFP for ya soon!!

I was 135 before the meds - now I am 174. It *****. BMI is actually a bad predictor of your well-being. If you have alot of muscle (which I don't) you get screwed and you are called overweight. So I don't believe in BMI - I have done alot of research on it and it is crappppp. If you look at the cut-off weights for the heights on BMI - you pretty much need to look like my super skinny hubby to be considered "normal". No thanks. I would find another doc. I have gotten preggo at this weight in January so I have no problem getting preggo. Also, if you exercise or lose weight during a fertility cycle, it could effect everything from your hormones to your egg production and quality. I pay way too much money to be doing ANYTHING I don't normally do. That way I know it wasn't nessasarily me who screwed the cycle up.

Sorry if that sounded rude - I am so strung out on progesterone that I am tired and cranky - not a good combo. Not trying to be rude but if I hear one more person tell me to lose weight (my doc hasn't said a word) I will scream :)

i put on a lot of weight too when taking all the fertility drugs. lets just say I wasa 137 pounds before hand, I shot up to 184 pounds pre-pregnancy and tipped the scales at 225 on the last day of pregnancy., albeit I was pregnant with twins,, ANYWAY... i have lost 65 pounds, dont sweat it, dont worry about it, you can always diet after the fact!!! sending tons of SSBD your way!!!

loosing weight would surely increase your fertility. my fertility clinic wont treat you now if your body mass index is over 26 as it decreases your chances in getting pregnant.

wait to eat choc til your pregnant as research states that makes a happy baby.

LOL...Men are famous for saying stupid things without thinking. Poor things don't always know when to use common sense.  I had to tell the guys at my job never to ask a woman if she is pregnant no matter how preggo she looks. They didn't ask me but one guy was telling me how he was embarrassed because he asked another girl if she was and she wasn't.  I told them the same thing, if a woman IS preggo then wait until she volunteers to tell you or ask somebody else if you REALLY must know.  Heck, I'm a woman and I know not to ask another woman that because a lot of women have fibroids that make them look preggo so I know not to ask.  But yeah, your friend was probably so embarrassed and had to get out of there fast.  That'll teach him LOL.

Don't let that get to you, he is probably the one feeling really stupid right now LOL.
