I have PCOS and am overweight (obese if you want to call it that) I have been TTC for 10 years and even when I had lost 120 pds before I never fell pregnant. I gained most of the weight back and just started seeing a fertility specialist! I am doing IVF after an unsuccessful IUI! It's always possible sweetie..all things are possible with God! Never think because you are overweight you can't have kids! I"ve seen some heavy women and I mean heavy..have tons of kids!!
I was told I had PCOS and that I should lose weight before getting pregnant and I told the Dr where to go... I know that i'm a bigger girl but I also know girls that were bigger then me that had no issues getting pregnant. Turns out, I don't have PCOS, I had a miscarriage that they should have done a D&C for but they didn't so that caused issues because there was something left that my body couldn't get rid of. I had a HSG that cleared out everything and within a month of it, I got pregnant....12 week U/S is actually today.
Hey there, do not be upset. my best friend is 3 months pregnant and she has PCOs. many women are pregnant though over weight. may be you are not ovulating by yourself, you may need some meds or shots to ovulate, so that u can get pregnant. good luck. there are many options to fix it. dont worry.
Ask your doctor about metformin. It is often very helpful in assisting ovulation in women with PCOS. keep up the good work with the weight managment, this is also very helpful in increasing fertility in PCOS.
There are also meds to help you ovulate. However, would be best if you get your weight stabilised before you try these as they may not be necessary, and metformin alone may do the job.
I too am overweight, have PCOS, and type 2 diabetic. My husband and I have been trying for 4 years. I have done all the test, changed doctors, seen a RE, done acupunture, changed my diet, gave up caffenine, and read tons of studies and books. A book that I just read that I recommend is Fertility Foods. I ordered it on amazon for about $15. The book recommends a high protein diet and since incorpoarting this I have been able to stop the clomid as I am now ovulating on my own. My weight keeps going up and down, but just started with a dietician too. Best of luck!
