Injectibles Chicks

Anyone taking injectibles with IUI or without, but not doing IVF? I just switched to an all repronex cycle after 3 failed clomid rounds. I'm having lots of side effects even though I'm on a very low dose and I'm worried about overstimming. Anyone else take injectibles (Gonal F, Follistim, etc...) for a non-IVF cycle?

Hi. Yes, I did without doing IVF, we did iui. (We used Follistim) And it worked on our 2nd try! We're almost 17 weeks now, which still seems unreal! We also did Clomid before moving on to injections, and Clomid never got us our BFP. Good luck to you!!!

Yes Follistim here too with no IVF. No luck so far. Had better luck on Clomid (conceived but MC). Are you getting blood and us every few days to make sure you do not overstim?

This month is the first time I've done meds.  I did Gonal-F @ 150 for 7xnights.  Had US done CD2 for the green light, CD3 started w/the injections, by CD9 I had 3 follies @ 18, 21, & 21 NEXT DAY WENT BACK FOR 10,000 trigger shot.  I was monitored on CD2, CD6, CD8 then CD9 plus E2 b/w.  I responded quickly, RE was a bit shocked too. I knew I would, because I O on my own...relegioulsly.  I went to injections, because I just turned 40 (yikes!) & don't want to waste anymore time!   Past 1 1/2  I've  HUGE ovarian cyst, 2 miscarriages, & a DnC.
We did timed intercourse, not IUI.
The onky side effect I had from the shots were a VERY VERY VERY bad headache......BUT I also was a t the tale end of a cold, & as I started the shots it turned into a nasty sinus infection.  So not sure if the headaches were that or from the Gonal-F.
The day after my trigger I had the worst ovarian pain ever!  Not like my syst would give me, that was different.  This was like a very bad constant stabbing/cramp feeling in my poor little one & only ovary :(
But after that as I O'd it went away.  Oh...& my nipp's were SUPER SUPER sore for about 4 says post trigger!
What kind of side effects are you getting?  Are you being monitored?

Wow. It's so nice to know i'm not alone.

luvkaylyn- OMG that is a great successs story. makes me so hopeful.

usuk- I didn't have any luck with the clomid, my m/c was non medicated. I think it's because we are doing Timed Intercourse and the clomid dries up EWCM. I also O very late. I'm 38 and have one DD and she was conceived on my only ever O on CD14, so I think early eggs are better for me. That's what I'm praying for. Yes, I am monitored and it's covered by insurance.

So far, I had a scans on CD3 and 6, going in tomorrow CD10. I 've taken repronex, low doses, CD3 til CD9. On CD6, they saw two follies, but my estrogen was only 40, so she doubled the dose for 4 more nights. I overstimmed on clomid/repronex before so that is why I am scared. Doc wanted me to take lupron/repronex and I refused the lupron, so the chance of overstim is greater with repronex alone.

ITA17, I hear ya on the age thing and being agressive. I'm 38 and i thought I wanted 3 kids. I have one already after 14 months of infertility. Now, I would feel very lucky to have two kids. THere is also the possibility of twins on the injectibles, and I have mixed feelings about that. How would you feel about twins? I'm glad to see someone else doing injectibles with TI. I thought I was the only one. My side effects are the same as yours as far as the headaches. I had lots of O pain with the clomid, I'm sure repronex will be similar. My main s/e is the tiredness, sort of hungover feeling. and emotional/crying. aching to hold a baby. And anti-social, don't want to talk to anybody, go see anybody. Want to just stay home and hide out.

I've heard other stories about triggering on CD9 on injectibles. I think the whole thing is just sort of speeded up. Good luck and babydust!!! How many dpo are you? I'm CD9 now and go in tomorrow for monitoring and will trigger when they tell me to. Hoping for before CD15!!

OK ladies, sorry to be so wordy but I'm excited to be in the same boat with you!

You are for sure not alone!!! :-)    I think it sounds like you are being monitored well, try not to worry too much! (yeah right!!!??)  But I typically O on day 11-12 since my last miscarriage, even though my cycles are still @ 28 days...weird kinda......I think anywayz.  My RE says he sees women who O as early as as CD 7 sometimes.
Keep us posted!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Oh, & today is either 7 or 8DPO, I go in tomorrow for my prog. level

every month I pray for an early egg, and every month, even medicated, I wait until Cd18, CD21, I just think it's too late.

I'm hoping the repronex moves everything up a little. I am seeing signs of O already at CD9 so I'm excited

Good luck with your progesterone check. please let me know what you find out.

OK back from my CD10 scan, Looks like I'm not overstimming. I had three small follies on the left ovary, largest was 13mm, I think.

So waiting for an email to see what to do next. I hope it's not too low of a dose either. I took a really low dose.

Got my instructions. 4 more nights of meds and a recheck on CD14, hopefully my follies do some bigtime catching up in the next few days.

update is bad.

No measurable follies on CD14. lining only 4mm and leaking? and E2=600.

The docs wanted me to continue with stims but I am mentally and physically not prepared to put any more effort into a cycle with no lining and no eggs.
