6wks 6 days and no heartbeat

So I have been going crazy the past two days.  I went in for an ultrasound this past monday (at 6wks and 6 days) and only measure at 5 wks 6 days and there was not heartbeat.  They know my exact date because I went through IVF. Has anyone had any similar experience and has had a healthy pregnancy?  They are having me come back next monday for another ultrasound to see if i am maybe just progressing slower.  They told me to mentally prepare myself for the worst!  I am so scared.  We have been trying for two years, 6 IUI's and 3 IVF cycles and finally got a positive result!!! All that to have to go through this now!! Just praying I go back in on Monday and there is some kind of progression!

You will beat the odds.  Come Monday you will be crying as you see the little flickering light in the monitor.

Thank you!  It's reassuring to hear your story! I know there is that small chance that we can go in on Monday and I will have progressed and we will see that precious heartbeat. My hormones have been a slow progression through this whole fertility experience, why stop when I get pregnant right!  I definitely don't fall into their "normal" category.  Hoping I can beat the odds and have a healthy little baby!!

Hi. I'm sorry you're having to go through this stress right now. It definitely could just be a slow progression. I went through ivf too, so they knew my exact dates. We went for our 1st u/s at 5 weeks, 1 day & saw one sac. At 6 weeks, 2 days, we saw the baby's heartbeat, but surprise! There was another sac with no heartbeat. It wasn't til 7 weeks, 2 days that we saw our second baby's heartbeat. I'm now 21 weeks & she still measures 3 days behind our boy, but all the measurements, etc show she's growing appropriately. So, stay positive & hang in there! Best wishes on Monday :)

Thank you.  Yeah, that is what I am hoping too.  The Dr did say that their ultrasound equipment usually can see a heartbeat at 6weeks.  She is giving it another week though to see if I am just progressing slower.  Keeping my finges crossed that that is the case!!

Most of the time a heartbeat cannot be detected until the 7th or 8th week, hopefully it was just too early to see the heartbeat.  Even though you know the date of the IVF, it may have taken a few extra days to implant causing the baby to look smaller than you thought because of this.  Fingers crossed that the heartbeat is there next week and the baby keeps growing!  Positive thoughts and prayers for you!

Thank you!  They stopped doing the bloodwork last week.  When I went for US last week there was no fetal pole and this monday there was.  So I would like to think it is progressing but just a little slower.  I wouldn't doubt it with my luck!  I never fall under the "norm".

I will be praying for you.  Has the doctor done any bloodwork?  I hope you have good news on Monday.  Chances are its just a slow progression.  Good luck.
