First Re visit

Hi I was just wondering what to expect from my first RE visit. I have taken clomid for 3 months without success, I am going in tomarrow to have an HSG test. Then I go next week to the RE. Will they start things going right away?????

Honestly...the RE we use now was recommended by DH's boss and his wife! They were doing the "baby talk" and went to see her to make sure that all their parts were ok to try, and they got preggo without her help....anyway, she made such an impression on them from just ONE visit that they told us about her!!!  Wow. they lost your chart?!?!? That would have been enough for me to say SEE YA!!! Good Luck!! :)

Thank you guys for your advise. I had my HSG done today it went better than expected. The intense pain was for only about 10 seconds during the procedure and now hours later I still don't have any cramping. The radiologist said that my tubes were open and normal. I have had my CD3 B/W done already and my husband is going friday for his semen analysis, which I'm sure will be fine because he had one years ago with his ex-wife and he had great swimmers. I'm hoping that my RE will start me up on injectables with insemenation right off the bat. I have heard that I will like my RE she is very nice. So hopefully thats the case.

Imcrt- Make sure you feel comfortable with your RE. If you don't feel comfortable during the first visit, look for another. It is difficult to change during a cycle. Sometimes doctor's forget we pay them to have the M.D behind their name.  

MamaTina- How did youfind your RE. If I end up m/c this pregnancy. I am considering looking for a new RE. I am not satisfied with "customer service." Always feel like I am rushed. Nevermind, once they lost my chart, once they didn't schedule my appointment, once the nurse told me the wrong amount of Lupron to take, which I believe is the reason I only produced 4 mature follies. This has caused me no to trust what she or the nurse's say. Today I found out my numbers are not doubling, Friday (289) today 532. My nurse said i could just be early. I just don't believe her. Not good.

Good luck on your HSG test.  I had one done last month and OMG!!! I swear I felt like I had another baby for about 4 hours afterwards!! Was VERY uncomfortable, but as far as your 1st RE visit...LOTS of questions, and EVERYTHING will be asked too!!  An ultrasound (most likely a vaginal) and ofcourse blodwork!! And then they go from there! I am on my 2nd RE and LOVE her to pieces!! The 1st one didnt even bother to try ANY form of meds with me and told me that when you eggs are done, they are done, and My hubby and I should look into egg donation!!  WTF?!??!? Are you kidding!!! I had a PERFECT pregnany with my son and go preggers the !st time we Baby danced afte quiting birth control ssssooooo............hope you have better luck than me!! :)

If you had all of the testing done already your RE may suggest some more aggressive treatments right away.
