had my egg transfer on 25.02.2011

hi all
i am new to this but have been reading it on and off over the last few years.
we have just had icsi done, and the egg transfer was on the 25.02.2011. i have had mild cramping and felt faintish a few time.
i have done a hpt on the 6th day after et and it was neg, was not really bothered as i know it was to early.
done another hpt on day 10 and then day 11 and sure enough there was the positive lines. was a bit faint, but they were there.
when i phoned the unit, they said to test again on thursday and then give them a ring.
now i just worry a bit that coudl it still be a neg??
why do they want me to test again????
hope someone can share some light on this.

Wishing you lots of love and BEST of luck.  Our first pregnancy ended in miscarriage.  Our first round of IVF was unsuccessful.  But our second round DID take and now I am 20 weeks pregnant.  It CAN happen for you.  I promise!  Again - sending you love and luck!!

Hi all
Well i am back after 4 months of avoiding this site!!! everything went really well and as you might see from previous couple of posts, i had the pos test after first cycle of icsi, i however had a miscarriage at 7 weeks and felt dreadfull, vowing to never try trt again. and at that time everyone around me fell pregnant which left me very bitter and angry!!!
we are now again doing icsi, and i started my buserlin on the 15th june!! actually very excited but scared as hell aswell!!!
so scared it is going to work again but have another mc!!
is anybody else had this happen but then ended up with second time  not ending in mc????
had another mc last year when we conceived naturally.scared that maybe i just can't carry full term??

They probably just want to be sure because sometimes the 'trigger shot' that you take before your retrieval can cause a false positive with a home test. The most reliable test is the blood beta test which can only be given by your doctor. I wish you much good luck and would think that the hormones from the trigger shot would have left your system by now especially since your first test was negative. Congrats!
