natural progesterone to regulate ovulation?

My doc just put me on a natural progesterone cream but I am concerned b/c she wants me to start using it on CD14 when I don't normally ovulate until CD 18! She says it may take a few months but it should cause my body to start ovulating sooner (my cycle is only 30 days on average so this is essentially to treat a LPD).

Everything I have read says that progesterone will stop or delay ovulation..
I am curious as to how this is supposed to "regulate" my ovulation? I know she's the doc, but I also know what I've read.

I conceived last month on CD 18 and lost it on CD 30. I am wondering if I shouldn't allow myself to ovulate on CD 18 as usual and THEN start taking the cream? I don't want to stop ovulating all together!

What do you guys think I should do???

ok thank you!  The doc did say that I "should" wait a few cycles b/c of the chemical pregnancy but she said it is not "necessary", just "recommended". She is not an RE, she is an OB. Everything I have read says to start the progesterone after O so that is most likely what I will do. I almost always O on CD 18 so I don't want to mess up my cycle altogether.
I feel bad going against doc's orders but I honestly am not sure she knows what she is talking about.

Did your doc tell you to stop TTC for a few months while you are on the progesterone  so she could treat your LPD???? If not then I would wait until after you ovulate to start taking the progesterone.
