The cost for natural ivf is around $5000. My dr.'s office said the cost of regualr ivf is between 6-10 thousand. In all honesty, i think i would go for the full ivf and maybe ask the dr. if there is any way to keep the cost as minimal as possible.
i must say i agree with lmcrt. i wouldnt do a natural ivf cycle. this was my first ivf cycle and i got 12 eggs. 4 fertilized and 3 made it to blasto but only one was a good solid embie for transfer. Given that youre going through so much with IVF, i would definately go with a medicated cycle that gives you the best chances.
good luck
I think it would be insane to have a natural IVF cycle. Why have a retrival with only able to get one good egg thats mature. Theres a really good chance that egg won't be good enough for transfer and success. I'm just an example. I had 13 eggs retrieved, 12 matured and only 6 fertilized with ICSI out of the 6 only 3 made it to 5 days blastocyte stage. They transferred two and I am pregnant with a singleton. If your really want to get pregnant go all the way. But if your really stuck on natural methods I would at least try clomid with it.
I asked the same question a few weeks ago, I think it's pretty cool, if you are a good responder to minimal medications. The success rate is around 40% ish i think, compared to the 60% ish of a full blown IVF. One of the keys is that they use local anesthesia instead of general anesthesia. Less invasive since there's fewer eggs to retrieve.... I thought it was pretty interesting.
I read it in a Fertility Magazine once at my RE's office - also read about Clomid IVF...I asked my RE about it, and he said he wasn't crazy about the idea. I don't see a problem with it!!
